A Message from the Principal of Shaw Elementary
Hello! I’m Dr. Garcia, and as the Principal of Shaw Elementary School, I have the great privilege of leading a beautiful school community dedicated to helping children grow each and every day.
Our primary goal at the elementary level is to prepare our students holistically with the academic and social-emotional skills they need to thrive as they transition into middle school. We achieve this through innovative social-emotional learning (SEL) practices and research-based instructional strategies implemented across all classrooms from Pre-K through 5th grade, including our specials such as Music, Art, Physical Education, Special Education, and ESL services.
We firmly believe that it takes a village to educate a child. That’s why we partner with every department to ensure students receive instruction that is tailored to their individual needs, challenging them appropriately and helping them reach the next level of growth. Our families are an essential part of this village. When parents and teachers work together in a child’s education, it builds a strong foundation for the future leaders and engaged citizens of our community.
